Hosted at Rock Falcon Studio in Nashville where the band have been recording their new album, The Bitter Truth, the intimate performance gives an up-close view of Evanescence in the studio. In the live setting, Amy Lee’s powerful vocals blend seamlessly with the group’s raw, emotional arrangements, making it clear why she is “one of rock’s definitive voices” (Rolling Stone). Featuring new songs as well as universally known anthems like “Bring Me to Life,” the event delivers a powerful, timely performance that transitions effortlessly between guitar-driven bangers and piano ballads to bring the Evanescence live experience home.

So far this year, Evanescence has released three singles from The Bitter Truth: Wasted on You,” “The Game is Over,” and the current Top 15 radio single “Use My Voice,” which have garnered early praise from The New York Times, Elle Magazine, Rolling Stone, and more. “Wasted on You” earned an MTV Video Music Awards nomination in the Best Rock category, and “Use My Voice” was this fall’s get-out-the-vote anthem for HeadCount, the music industry’s biggest non-partisan, nonprofit voting rights organization.

Evanescence is out now with the video for “Use My Voice,” their new single that “captures the current socio-political zeitgeist of advocacy and activism” (MTV) – the visuals follow frontwoman Amy Lee, her bandmates, and a diverse group of citizens as they unite for change and justice.
Watch the video for “Use My Voice,” directed by acclaimed filmmaker Eric HowellHERE.  Lee first met Howell back in 2015 when she was asked to write the end title theme for his film, Voice From The Stone, starring Emilia Clarke of Game of Thrones fame.
Beginning with Amy alone in the dark and ending in a collective light-filled demonstration as the day breaks, the video serves as a hopeful metaphor of moving from darkness into a more illuminated future by being heard.
Earlier this month, Evanescence partnered with HeadCount, one of the leading non-partisan, non-profit voter information services to help people navigate the registration and voting process by providing information on options to vote safely during COVID. Check out the “Use My Voice” PSA, and go to UseMyVoice.org to get registered, check your registration, or learn more about your candidates.
And watch Amy speak with CBS This Morning’s Anthony Mason HERE about HeadCount, “Use My Voice,” and the process of collaborating on it with some very special guests: Lzzy Hale (also featured in the video), Taylor Momsen, Sharon den Adel (Within Temptation), Deena Jakoub (VERIDIA), Lindsey Stirling, and more, who all contribute vocals to the song.
“We are proud to stand up and join the fight against the injustice, lies and oppression that plague our country and the world. No matter who you are, what you look like, where you come from or who you love, your voice matters. We hope to shine a light in the darkness, to empower and inspire. Use your voice. Vote.” – Amy Lee
“Use My Voice” follows the critically acclaimed singles “Wasted on You,” and “The Game is Over” as the third song and video to be released early from the forthcoming The Bitter Truth, Evanescence’s first new album of all new material in nearly a decade. Being released incrementally, The Bitter Truth promises fans more of the heavy, vocal-driven, and expertly-arranged rock for which Evanescence is known.

Evanescence and front woman Amy Lee are back with their new single and unique musical event, “Use My Voice,” out today.    Listen HERE.

Featuring a line-up of bad-ass women who lent their voices to the anthemic chorus in the song, “Use My Voice” was written to celebrate the power of speaking out in order to promote a more just world.

Amy Lee said: “This is an era of awakening, and full of powerful beauty. I hope to inspire others to seek truth, find their own voices and use them as I step up to use mine. Don’t let anybody speak for you. Only you can do that.”

Evanescence and HeadCount Launch PSA & Campaign to promote Voter Registration & Easy Access to Voting

August 5, 2020 – Evanescence and HeadCount, the non-partisan, non-profit voter registration organization, unveiled a public service announcement today entitled USE MY VOICE along with a campaign to encourage Americans to check or update their voter registration status.

Watch the PSA, which features a portion of Evanescence’s upcoming anthem “Use My Voice” (out August 14th) as its theme music, HERE

The USE MY VOICE initiative places special emphasis on empowering Americans to use their voice as safely and easily as possible in the upcoming election. It points voters to www.UseMyVoice.org, where they can get accurate, clear information on voting by mail. It also offers location-based instructions on where to vote, what’s on an individual voter’s ballot, and provides easy access to voter registration, where permitted by states.

As an additional incentive to encourage people to use the free service, everyone who

registers or checks the status of their existing registration will receive an electronic ticket

to attend a free, private online performance by Evanescence in the Fall.

Evanescence joined together with HeadCount after witnessing the COVID crisis’ dire impact on primary voting in many states, including long lines in places like Georgia and elsewhere, as well as the forced rescheduling of other primary elections. With the recent spike in Coronavirus infections throughout the nation, the band wanted to do something to address the concern. Sharing HeadCount’s belief that our democracy functions best when as many people as possible – regardless of their political preference – participate by using their voices, the band is dedicating itself to this cause by leveraging its reach to help in achieving HeadCount’s goal of registering 200,000 voters, and directly engaging with one million voters this election year.

Evanescence front-woman Amy Lee said “For many Americans, voting is too often an intimidating experience. We all saw the long lines in certain precincts in Georgia during their recent primary. Unfortunately, what happened there is not unique In America. It happens all the time, especially in underserved communities in our country. Now, add COVID into the mix and you have the perfect combination of factors to continue to suppress the voice of the people.”

Lee continues, “The USE MY VOICE campaign is about empowering people to use their voice at the ballot box. Promoting easy access to registration and voting is not a Democratic or Republican issue—it’s an American issue and one we should all promote because there’s nothing more patriotic than supporting participation in our democratic process.”

HeadCount’s executive director Andy Bernstein said of the partnership “We’re thrilled to collaborate with Evanescence towards our goal of registering 200,000 new voters this election year. Their strong commitment, enormous fan base, and 25 million-strong social media following will help us accomplish great things.”

“Use My Voice” is also the name of the exciting new single by Evanescence, out August 14th, from the band’s highly-anticipated upcoming album, The Bitter Truth (BMG). Previously released songs and videos “Wasted On You” and “The Game Is Over” have gotten early praise from The New York Times, Elle Magazine, Rolling Stone, and more, and the album – the band’s first of all new music in nearly a decade – is set to ignite a new fire for rock fans everywhere. Last week, the band’s video for “Wasted on You”, self-shot in March while the band was quarantined due to the COVID pandemic, garnered an MTV Video Music Awards nomination in the Best Rock category.
