Fight Like A Girl (feat. K.Flay) – OUT NOW!

Evanescence and alt-rock visionary K.Flay have teamed up for their first-ever collaboration on the explosive new song, “Fight Like A Girl”. The song is featured as the first end title song in Ballerina, the hotly anticipated film set in the world of John Wick. Both the song and the film are out this Friday, June 6th.

Co-written by Evanescence lead singer Amy Lee, K.Flay, Dylan Eiland, and Ballerina film composer Tyler Bates, who also produced the track, “Fight Like A Girl” follows the release of Halsey and Amy Lee’s thunderous track “Hand That Feeds,” the first original song recently revealed from the film in early May.

Fueled by fierce energy and defiance, “Fight Like A Girl” channels the film’s themes of vengeance, resilience, and female empowerment, mirroring its adrenaline-pumping intensity and emotional depth. Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas, Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Byrne, Lance Reddick, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus, with Ian McShane, and Keanu Reeves, is set to electrify audiences with its high-octane action and raw emotional stakes. Directed by Len Wiseman and written by Shay Hatten, based on characters by Derek Kolstad, the film is produced by Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, and Chad Stahelski.

“Tyler calling me up to create this song for Ballerina couldn’t have come at a more perfect time, I know I’m not the only girl out there ready to dig my heels in and show the world what we’re made of,” said Amy Lee. “I really wanted this song to be a collab, and K.Flay is one of my favorite artists. It is literally a dream come true to do this together!”

“Amy sent me the demo and I was immediately so energized, so inspired,” said K.Flay. “I was on tour at the time, and I wrote my verse backstage after a show, when my adrenaline was still super high. For me, the film and the song are both about how we channel our pain and how we choose to define ourselves. What separates the hero from the villain?”

Taking place during the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Ballerina follows Eve Macarro (Ana de Armas) who is beginning her training in the assassin traditions of the Ruska Roma.

New single “Afterlife” from Netflix series ‘Devil May Cry’

Evanescence is releasing a brand-new song. “Afterlife,” is co-written by Alex Seaver of Mako and Evanescence’s Amy Lee and co-produced by Nick Raskulinecz and Alex Seaver. “Afterlife” will be released by Netflix where an alternate version will appear multiple times in their new animated series of Devil May Cry. The lyric video drops on March 27th, the song will be available on all audio streaming services at midnight and the soundtrack album for the series will be released on April 3rd. About Korn

Korn changed the world with the release of their self-titled debut album. It was a record that would pioneer a genre, while the band’s enduring success points to a larger cultural moment. The FADER notes, “There was an unexpected opening in the pop landscape and Korn articulated a generational coming-of-angst for a claustrophobic, self-surveilled consciousness. Korn became the soundtrack for a generation’s arrival as a snarling, thrashing, systemically-restrained freak show.”

Since forming, Korn has sold 40 million albums worldwide, collected two Grammys, toured the world countless times, and set many records in the process that will likely never be surpassed. Korn has continued to push the limits of the rock, alternative and metal genres, while remaining a pillar of influence for legions of fans and generations of artists around the globe.

The level of Korn’s reach transcends accolades and platinum certifications. They are “a genuine movement in a way bands cannot be now,” attests The Ringer. They represent a new archetype and radical innovation, their ability to transcend genre makes barriers seem irrelevant.

The band’s latest release, Requiem, was born out of very different circumstances than the majority of the band’s catalog; with their busy touring schedule halted due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the band found themselves energized by a new creative process free of time constraints. This allowed them to do things with Requiem that the past two decades haven’t always afforded them, such as taking additional time to experiment together or diligently recording to analog tape – processes which unearthed newfound sonic dimension and texture in their music. The record has been praised by fans and critics alike and also saw its lead single, “Start The Healing,” reach #1 on the Modern Rock Radio chart.

About Evanescence

Two-time GRAMMY® Award-winning Evanescence has made an impact on people around the world. The group’s 2003 landmark debut album Fallen laid the foundation, spending 43 weeks on the Billboard Top 10 and selling more than 17 million copies worldwide. Debut single and global hit “Bring Me to Life” reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and marked their first U.K. #1 hit single. The equally popular “My Immortal” peaked at #7 in the U.S. and U.K.

Following multiple worldwide tours, The Open Door came next, which went on to sell more than five million copies followed by the self-titled Evanescence which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Charts. Evanescence lead singer-songwriter and pianist Amy Lee, bassist Tim McCord, drummer Will Hunt, lead guitarist Troy McLawhorn, and guitarist and backing vocalist Jen Majura went down both very new and familiar paths for their symphonic/electronic 4th release, Synthesis, in 2017 via BMG.  The album scored four Billboard #1s debuting atop the Independent, Alternative, Rock, and Classical Album Charts.

Evanescence launched their worldwide “Synthesis Live” tour in October 2017 combining their intense live performances and timeless songwriting with a powerful live orchestra. The Bitter Truth Cover

‘The Bitter Truth,’ Evanescence’s first album of original music in a decade, is out now on BMG. A return to the band’s heavy roots, ‘The Bitter Truth’ is a reflection of both the personal tragedies in the band members’ own lives (the unexpected passing of frontwoman Amy Lee’s brother, the sudden loss of a child by bassist Tim McCord) and the collective tragedies of the planet amidst racial inequality, COVID, and economic upheaval. But, despite the darkness and bitterness of life, the album’s resounding message is one of light: Pushing through is better than giving up.

Forced to write and record the majority of the album apart from one another throughout 2020, with an unprecedented work flow and no creative limits, the band naturally returned to the fiery, epic sound for which they are known. Lyrically, the heaviness of the world bred raw honesty, and brought to life themes both old and new. A process of healing in itself, for Lee, writing and singing about topics such as inner demons, grief, the “I’m okay” facade society forces on those struggling with their mental health, rebellion in the face of injustice and misogyny, and the freedom that comes with ending toxic relationships ultimately culminated in a sense of resilience.

Amy Lee said of ‘The Bitter Truth:’

I want people to come away from this album feeling hope and empowerment and strength. Something that inspires me a lot in life is people who have overcome great obstacles –  survivors. I hope we can pass on the idea that even when things are impossibly painful life is worth living. Leaning into those darkest, most challenging moments, facing them and finding we’re not alone in them, makes us real. Makes us strong enough to take them on. And it brings us together, if we let it, in a deeper appreciation of the light… and the truth. Thanks for the memories. Now let’s go make some new ones.

The quarantine-creation of the album is also chronicled in a new documentary, ‘Evanescence: Embracing The Bitter Truth,’ directed by Adam Jones and out today via The Coda Collection, the music-centric streaming channel on Amazon Prime Video. Capturing the album’s genesis from the band’s last (planned) live show in December 2019 and its literal destruction by fire to the mostly-remote mixing and completion processes, the documentary is necessary viewing for fans and anyone looking to understand the art behind the art of the pandemic era.
